The Modified Foliage Theme, currently running on this blog, is now available for download! You may download the theme from the source repository at Google Code.. The current version is a development release and hence there might be a few issues with the theme. One known issue with the theme is the absence of popup-widget feature. The IE6 flicker problem has now been rectified.
You may read more at the theme's home page.
Thanks a lot Rudi, for reminding me to upload the theme. Please feel free to contact me for any issues that you face. I would request you to log the issue at Google Code.
You can download the ZIP archive from here.
Modified Foliage for download!
Stamped: Monday, December 17, 2007
i'm sorry, i dun find a way i could download it, may i know where it is?
Sorry, I missed out giving the direct link. I am gonna post it in an hour from now.
You can download the theme from here.
Sandy,
I know you commented on my blog, but I wanted to make sure the changes I made to your template are okay. The template itself is really neat, and the modifications you made to it are amazing. Let me know if I need to put the credit links back like they were. Thanks for all your hard work on it!
Dave, Use the theme at your own discretion. Let me know of things which might make the theme more beautiful, fast and stunning and also of features you would wish to have. What would be your opinion on making the theme still wider, may be fluid-width?
Sandy, I think you've done a great job with it. One of my favorite things you've done is widen the width from the original. I'm not sure though about making a fluid width one. I know that would be a challenge for me (but you actually know what you're doing) ;-)
At least here in the United States, widescreen laptops are the most popular computer around, so a fluid width might be a great idea. I am currently building a drupal website for an organization here in town, and I am working toward a fluid width theme for that reason.
Sandy,
I still love this template, but for some reason the ajaz header on mine quit working. I think I am going to have to start it from scratch again, but I thought I would wait if you were close to having a new version of this out. So, do you have any idea when you'll be coming out with the next version?
Thanks again for all the work you've done on this. You've made a great template be really amazing!
Dave,
Thanks for reporting the issue. Could you please let me know the changes you might have made recently in the template, or if you could forward me the code to the template itself. This would help in debugging the issue faster.
The new version for the template is due on 1st weekend of Feb 2008. But, I can take a look at your issue this weekend itself.
Sandy, I actually haven't changed anything on the template since the first day I put it up. This has something to do with a blogger change.
Last night when I checked, yours was working, but this morning (morning here in usa), your ajax header is not working either. I tested it with IE7, firefox and safari for windows.
Dave, this is strange. When I had checked it out in the day, it was working and as I check it now it is NOT. I guess this has something to do with a recent Blogger update.
Would take a look into it on Saturday, and update you as soon as I am done.
Sandy,
You've done a great job with this template. While I can only speak for myself, I hope everyone else would agree with me in this. We love your template, but please don't feel pressure to fix this right away. Our blogs will survive even a small part of the template is not working. Enjoy your weekend instead! :-)
Thanks for the kind words. All the credit goes to the original creators of the theme. Well, I have spotted the bug. It crops up as blogger is cleaning up all the javascript of the new line breaks. Hence, the script is rendered as the comment. I guess a solution is nearby ;)
Dave, Good news! It was a small issue related to the XML parsing. Well, I have fixed it on my page. Just wrap the two script tags in a CDATA tag. That works. You may read more on my entry at Azcarya here.
Sandy,
You've been working hard and fast on this! I just thought you might want to know that this blog is not working in ie7. Firefox seems to be working fine though.
(sorry to throw more stuff at you when you thought you had it fixed)
Hmmm... Its again a Javascript error, will look at it in the evening. I guess it wouldn't be a tricky one again :D The browser compatibility issues always trouble.
Bingo - works fine in IE7 too. Anyways that was my fault, had included an extra HTML comment inside the CDATA blog. ;)
Hi Sandy. How are you. Thanks for the template foliage. I love this template. Sorry my poor English, but I am Brazilian and I did not speak their language fluently. I had an upgrade in the template putting the comments from Haloscan and changing the shape of date. I would like your help to put the menu of Azcarya this template. I tried all the way and I could not make it work. Maybe you could help me? I would put the menu Label Cloud and Archives in Foliage.
A big hug.
Hey Paulo, I am good, Thanks! How are you? You have really done a good job with your template.
I would be more than pleased to work with you on putting the Azcarya header on your blog. On a top view, you would need to include the jQuery plugin for the window panes, add links to your top header, add widgets for the purpose, and then add a wrapper tag around the widget code to render that.
I have just worked out on the part to add links at the top on the page. You may see the code here.
I really liked the idea of the date template. Would you like it to be shared with the community, if yes, please approve so that I might put up the modified version along with the original code. And yes, you would be given due credit.
Have a great day!
Hey Sandy. Glad you responded. It will be a pleasure to share what I did with the community, though the code has not been well-formatted. The file is here. I need your help because even I am not able to operate. Thank you again your attention and availability. Heva a nice day!
Thanks Paulo! Thanks for sharing the file. I am based out of India and its pretty late in the night here :D
I would look into it in the day tomorrow and send you out the updated XML.
Cheers,
Sandy
Thank you very much. I will wait with anxiety. Good work. :;
Hello Sandy. It managed to make the changes? Have a great week!
Hey Paulo!
My sincerest apologies for missing out on this - it just slipped out of my mind. Great that you were able to achieve this!
Let me know if you need any help, and this time I am not gonna miss it ;)
Keep Walking,
Sandy
Hi Sandy!
firstly i love what you have done for the blog template.. i am a fan of the foliage theme and am so glad that somebody has been kind enough to modify it to a xml setting..
i was using the old foliage blogger but for some reason google search engines and my own internal search could not find anything in my posts..
would love to use your modified theme but i'm on firefox 3 and ie7 and in both browsers, the 'pull down' ajax menu aint working..
i'm not exactly very literate when it comes to codes etc..
Thanks!
Hey Liz, Its great to know that you love the Foliage theme.
I have modified the theme to work in FF3 and IE7 a few days back, give me a day or two and would come up with the latest code for you to download. Meanwhile, you could preview the them on any of my blogs.
Regards!
Hi Sandy,
Will wait patiently!
Once again, thanks for all your hard work into this!
Sorry Liz, give me just 24 more hours!
Hi :-) I´m using Safari 3 and the pull-down-menu
isn´t working on that one either...love the theme tough :-)
The theme has been updated with the latest fixes. Read more here.
Thank you so much for this:)
It doesn't work on my blog. I'm new in the world of blogs. Any help??
Hi Cham,
I am so sorry it didnt work for you. Give me a day and I will definitely look into what is causing the problem.
Keep Walking,
~ Sandy
While this conversation is years old, I happened across it because I fell in love with the foliage template. I am confused, however. You call it an XML template but once downloaded it is only compatible in the "classic" or old blogger style.
Is this truly an XML file and is it supposed to be compatible with the new blogger?
I'm an idiot. I figured it out.
Thanks for the theme!
