Finally Seeing the Light of the Day!

Its been seven months since I started work on this beautiful theme called Foliage, and I am happy to say that today finally, it sees the light of the day. Not because it was tough, because one I was too busy and second I am too lazy.

Coming to the point straight way, the things that have changed are,

  • the theme is now fluid width, meaning it occupies the 100% width of the user's screen and every thing else adjusts on its own
  • Major fixes for Javascript pertaining to Internet Explorer, Firefox 3, and Safari browser.
  • Last but not the least, the theme is now licensed under MIT license which allows you to use the theme without attributing me or my blog (still I would prefer), you can use it for profit without any royalty to me (let me know the way too), and feel free to edit/update/delete/add to the theme.

I would appreciate if you could drop a Thanks on my blog, and let me know the blog's address you are implementing this in. I would update the site for everyone to see it live (and you get more visitors). You can download the theme from here. If you have any problem implementing it, raise an issue here, and I would try and help.

Keep Walking!

Thanks for this theme; it's great! I've been waiting for this to work with the new Blogger (the comments links seemed broken in an earlier version).

I've implemented it on my blog and my website, epicalec.tk in a reskinned incarnation. I've given you due credit both at the footer and on the special credits page (yeah...I stole that many people's work :P).

    Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the comments; those graphics are particular favourites of mine, too and I really don't mind sharing them, but what do you mean "make it open source"? Anyone is free to view the source of my site and use it as they wish.

I left the credits as they were, because I thought it was nice to acknowledge where the theme came from originally and it's not too much of an eyesore on my page. Although I suddenly realised that I hadn't uploaded the set of pages that credit you! So that's been fixed now ;)

I actually also had a slight query I wondered if you could help me with. Being an almost total coding novice, I wondered if you had any immediate thoughts on my photos page. If you click on the menu button the problem becomes obvious. I figured out just about enough javascript to sort of solve the issue, but wondered if you had any "neater" tricks?

I like those graphics, too, and I'd be more than happy to share my theme with the rest of the world. I just don't know what you mean when you say "make it open source". As far as I'm aware, anybody can view the source of my page and edit as they please.

I just left the original credits in, because it was nice to acknowledge where the theme came from originally and it's not too hard on the eyes, anyway. However, I just realised that I forgot to upload the set of pages where you're credited! So that's been fixed now ;)

Also, I was wondering if you could give me your thoughts on my photos page. If you click on the menu button, the problem is obvious. Being a total coding novice, I managed to piece together just enough javascript to crudely solve the problem, but I wondered if you had any "neater" solutions?

And I didn't know if you'd be interested, but in my template modding travels, I came across a very good piece of code for the blogger search bar, which works even on blogs that haven't been indexed by any search engines:
    [form id="searchthis" action="http://epicalec.blogspot.com/search" style="display:inline;" method="get"]
    [input id="b-query" maxlength="255" name="q" size="20" type="text"/]
    [input id="b-searchbtn" type="image" src="http://alec.x10hosting.com/search.png" align="bottom"/]

    (I've used "[]" insetad of "<>")

    INGLISH:
Hello, I'm from Argentina and the truth that I loved your theme. I like add to my blog, but I have problems. These are the captions below what it was in Spanish.
(sorry, but I translated with google).
The problem is that when I do all the steps I get an error page that says ... "Could not parse your template, because it is not well formed. Make sure all XML elements are closed properly.
XML error message: The content of elements must consist of well-formed character data or markup."
I do not know the error
    I need your help

Hello, I'm having some problems with the Modified Foliage Theme.

These are the issues (both in the single post page):
    - there is no light-green panel for comments on the right (but the comments are there, even if centered a bit too much compared to yours), but the commentator's icons are on the left (over the post title);
    - the "snippetleftsc0" file appears on the left side of the page (as if it was the left border of the content) - if I remove it from the css file it goes away, but I suppose it's there for a reason.

    Here's my blog' url: http://www.grazieadiosonoateo.me/

I do tried everything, and the only option I have now is to bother you - and I apologize for this.

I hope you'll be able to help me somehow.
    Happy Holidays :)

    P.S.
I can't find a way to style the title and the date of the posts as you did in "foliage-in-xml.blogspot.com" (date and number of comments beside the title with different colors) - would you give me a hint?

    Hi "la pecora atea",

Sorry for the delayed repsonse, the holiday time some how make me overlook the blog.

I took a look at your blog and there seems to be some issue in there. I will try and debug in the next two days.
